This week our team started collecting the laptops from the middle school students. It is always a tough day when the students have to hand over their most powerful learning tools! Over the summer, the Information Technology department will repair, refresh, and reimage hundreds of laptops to get them ready for the fall. Our team will continue collecting laptops, one building and grade level per day, until all are finished. The entire process takes about three weeks but has been in preparation for several weeks. The laptop storage carts were cleaned and the Technology Coaches have spent lots of time making sure the tubs, tables, and chargers are all ready to go.
Today, as I was replacing worn-out barcode labels, I overheard one student commenting to the friend next to her in line, "This is sad! I'm going to miss my laptop!" I thought to myself, "Don't worry... you'll get it back next year."
